Hi I am trying to find my family they are aboriginal. The last name is LaFont . If you have any information it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you looking for living family members - or doing genealogy (family history) research?

And are you speaking of Austrailian Aboriginees?

LaFont sounds French, are you Native American? Part of my ancestry comes from French explorers who traveled to Canada. I heard that many of them took Native American wives and lived like Native Americans. Then, when other whites started to put the natives on reservations, they changed from being French-Ojibwe, or French-whatever, into French-Canadian to keep their freedoms. This happened in the south too. More people are Native american than they think.

If you are Native American and that's a French name, this is probably the case. If not, then OOOPS! Sorry
