    Yard full of weeds
?? Taking advice from the radio, I sprayed a mix of soap and water on grass to kill weeds. Dumb! It killed all my grass and the weeds took over the complete yard. What should I do to get the grass growing again? Mid-Florida location.

    Re: yard full of weeds
Likely you have had enough rain to wash the soap away. Since you still have the weeds and little grass, I would treat the yard with Round Up, Next Day, etc. and kill off all the weeds too. Check the package directions on how long to wait until reseeding. Then until up the ground and seed. Cover with straw or have it hydroseeded. Keep it moist until the grass sprouts. I usually lightly sprinkle grass seed any day it doesn't rain.

Choose a variety of grass you like. You also have the option of starting from plugs. You still might plant annual rye to keep the mud down while the plugs spread.
