The choke on my Snapper Lawn Mower sticks. Any advice on how to get the choke to release?

Spray the linkage with carb cleaner or WD40 and then work it back and forth. If you clean the choke plate just use the carb cleaner. If it still sticks then something is binding and you'll need to disconnect the linkage and start playing detective.

ballengerb1 hit the nail on the head I would think, but you say it did not work. So, remove the tab that holds the cable in place. Check to see that the cable moves freely, if so , check to see that the choke plate moves freely, if not, lube and try again, you may have to work , lube, work, lube... to get it free. Then replace the tab and cable and see if it works, if not, you probably do need to go to a shop.

Hey Fleming, do you really think I deserved a bad mark for offering the same thing you apparently though of? This is how things work, you GIVE ALL IMPORTANT INFO, and ask a question. We take what is given and make a suggestion. If you already tried something you should have said what you tried. This is not a guessing game. You asked for advice and got good advice. I get a bad mark for my effort to help you, gee thanks.

ballengerb1, yes you were given a bad mark, and did not deserve it at all. You provided info. Based on the info given. And you are correct, we are not playing a guessing game here. I must spread a little around then I'll help you.
