Yes, we did and enjoyed it but the stuff is really dangerous. BTW... we used the men's room. After all, we weren't vandals or hooligans... just experimenters.
-
Thanks, Tom!
I mostly remember sodium and potassium from chemistry and how explosive they are when exposed to water in the school's bathroom! ;)

Have connected a galvanized 3/4" water pipe to a copper fitting inside a wall and wondered how important is it that these are separated by a brass type fitting or union? OK to use a union inside an...
-
Here it is. Thing is, the pump they sold me uses 2" PVC and it may even have different lengths, etc. Will try to locate it and send it. Couldn't get an answer from the manufacturer.

Speedball,
So, we got the basin installed and fired up the pump only to find out it was a demo unit. The wires had been cut inside the motor head. Finally got a new unit and in the process found...
-
Thanks, Speedball!
It has a 2" on top and was considering letting it go free air, otherwise will 45 over to the roof overhang and pop it through and up to the 10' requirement. Discharge is into a...

Speedball1,
So I'm ready to connect the 4" ABS sewage line from out of the converted garage foundation to the Zoeller 910-0005 pump and wondered how far away I should place the pump from the...

Of course, if this novice can flip the breakers before attempting the job. 220VAC is deadly and unforgiving. Make certain there is zero power to the unit before proceeding!
-
Thanks. Now I have to find an easy way to rip off shiplap siding without breaking many planks.
-
Did you replace it? It's in the exterior walls and it looks like quite an undertaking to remove it and replace with batts.
-
Well Tom; I'll take your advice and trade these in for 2 sanitary tee's. Good thing I have to go to Home Depot anyway. Thanks... I can picture a broken toilet... what's worse is picturing me on it...
-
Tom,
It's a Nibco 5811-C Two-way cleanout. Did I do good? Hope so... have to pick these things up when Home Depot has them in stock!

It would be minimal but would depend on the BTU's. 220VAC draws half the current as the 110VAC unit and this means less drop (loss) in the wiring.
-
Thank you. This one looks like it's made for cleanouts... don't remember the name, though.
-
Can always count on you. Bought the Tee's and other paraphernalia this morning so I think I’ll do it right. Thanks, again!
-
Sounds like a real plus when used for applying tiles to a concrete substrate. Compensates for the moody behavior of concrete with time/temp. Is it costly? This seems useless when used on a floor with...
-
So this means another cleanout near the house? Might be obvious to you but I can lost between right after the second 45 or right before (18") the house.
-
You don't need cement backer board as you already have concrete as the substrate. Start by sealing any cracks and then use thinset as the base right before you apply the ceramic tile.
-
Labman knows more about these but I might consider looking for a battery in the unit. These LCD types often contain a backup battery to preserve the program content when A.C. power is lost.
-
Tom,
Does this mean I only need one at the exit and not anywhere else or is this the accumulated bend the code is referring to?
Flick
-
Run from converted garage to house is approximately 34' long with around 90 degrees of bends (2-45's minus a slight angle coming out of the garage). I'm assuming it is best to add a vertical cleanout...

Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks, guys. Happen to have a few abrasive blades for the fine cuts.

I'm thinking about drywall in its place after replacing the insulation with fiberglass batts. Your opinion?
-
Any advice for cutting slab near the perimeter for 2" and 4" drain pipes so it doesn't break off at the perimeter?
-
These are only required for countertop receptacles in the kitchen. No harm in using one for the dishwasher.
-
The wall material in the photo seems to be some kind of glued and pressed bamboo? Anyone recognize it? It ain't drywall!
-
This is correct and TK will echo this when he next gets on board.
-
Thanks, Labman.
My concern is that the covering is stiff enough to impede a blow-in type install but this is the way (your suggestion) I was leaning. This leads me to the anxiety of removing it all!...

Have insulation in walls and attic that is contained in a package that easily punctures and when opened reveals a brown kind of sawdust? Anyone know what this is? I think it is useless for the walls...

Am running a trench and what with all the rock and it being clay soil was wondering if I could use sand to get plumb then cover with the clay and then with the clay/rocks?
-
Try contacting the manufacturer. Some of them are willing to sell direct and may also respond to special orders. 600 is not a real small number.
-
Without a photo can't know exactly what you are trying to replace but do know that Home Depot (and others) sell replacement motion sensors and even if it doesn't fit/match what you are trying to...
-
What is the output voltage of the panels? Attach a spec if you can.
-
I would not even consider the radon pipe and I'm certain the inspector will have an issue with it. Code is fairly clear and doesn't include any language relating to the sharing of another vent pipe....
-
Post this in the "Heating and Air Conditioning" forum... Labman will answer it.

Try this link... look for a contact number if you cannot find the info you need on their site.

This sounds like a strange enough problem that might well lead to some invoved teardown of the fan. I'd take it back as defective rather than waste any time troubleshooting the problem.

What does the application say? You may have signed up for this. If it is not in the agreement then she is out of luck. It is legal for her to deposit the check simply because you gave it to her and...

Do you have a source for the bulbs and batteries? Sounds like you know a little something about the subject?

Topping joint compound is not really intended for texturing or in this case re-texturing. Buy texturing material in a 40 or 50 pound bag for this job. Mixes readily with water or paint and you'll...
-
Thanks, Tom... good to be back!
Will follow your advice next time... was certain I had cracked the darn things. ;)
Did test them though; and they 'passed' what I had to offer.

Had to turn the water line off for some repair work and after turning it back on after a half hour or so I flushed one of the toilets and KABOOM. Flushed the other toilet and same thing. I can...

Pellet stoves are readily available as conversion kits (inserts) for existing fireplaces and it is best to check with a supplier nearby your residence for availability before tearing into it. I was...
-
Sounds like the source may be nearer the water supply connection and can be located by sniffing around the fittings. Might even be the line itself. Clean (with bleach) or replace the fittings and...
-
Is it possible you pinched the hose when installing? It sounds as if at least a portion of the install may have to be dismantled to correct this.
-
Probably the water shutoff valve. If you can locate it might be it isn't the problem itself but might need tightening to wherever it is attached. Otherwise replacing it may be required. You might...
