Doom
Quake
Half life
Counter Strike
There's loads but it really depends the the specs of the machines involved in the game.
I love Half Life, the first one, runs on ANYTHING and is extremly moddable and awsome for network play

I enjoyed Call of Duty but it was an easy game to finish.

I am particularly fond of Battlefield 2.
Computer requirements, however, are pretty steep.

I also agree that Half-life was a good game but I have only played it on the PS2 not PC.

I always seem to go back to FarCry and Area 51 when I want a FPS on my PC.

I didn't really care for Doom 3, and I haven't tried Half Life or Quake 4.

Of course...
I used to spend hours playing the orignal Wolfenstien on my Pentium 100...
