PS2 not working?

I just bought a new game and its not working hoew do I get it to work?

if other games are working on ure ps2 then u definatly no its the game. check the disc for scratches and try to cleanit if it still doesnt work check ure memory card, if ure memory card is quite old and u have played that game before if u have a previous save of that game on ure card from a long time ago delete it and try to load ure game again
