installing game

bought the pc game The Godfather and installed it, however we keep getting the box saying please insert correct dvd rom, can anyone suggest a way to play this game. 1 suggestion was daemontools 4.00 but we have no idea how to use it. We have tried compatability mode for win 2000, no good. cleaned disc no good. tried another dvd drive no good. Tried to return game to get money back but that was refused.
