| That is a lovely piece ! But difficult to identify this way. I assume there are no markings anywhere on the desk or you would have mentioned them. I suggest you have an antique appraisor take a look at it. They can usually tell b y the way the drawers are put together, along with the rarity of the wood now.

| Hi, sobway!
tick makes a very valid point about how the drawers are put together. Would you be able to post some images of inside and outside corners of the drawers, please? Also, it would be helpful to know on what the drawers are sliding.
Thanks! |

| hi clough,
i'll take a few photos this evening and post them. the front and back of the drawers are constructed with dovetails and it appears the drawer fronts are mahogany and the rest of the drawer (sides and bottem) are oak. it also appears the drawers slides are oak as well. thanks for the response, look for the photos later tonight or tomorrow.

| Hi again, sobway!
I have another question for you.
What does the desk smell like on the inside, please?
I have a good reason for asking that question.
We'll look forward to seeing the additional images.
Thanks! |
