My office desk drawer is stuck closed. It opens only an inch. It is on side sliders and there appears to be no way to access the sliders that seem to catch on something inside the track.
If you are having any trouble seeing anything or feeling around with something like a hanger, you also might want to use a flashlight and also one of those telescoping little round mirrors in order to see what is going on inside the drawer and also concerning the sliders.
TO be quite honest, I usually just pull that drawer really hard...and stuff comes flying all over the place and what ever was holding that drawer shut usually gets broken, but I like the hanger idea much better....

There are some smart cookies hanging around here!
HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, LOL! I just gotta tell ya, truly that WAS funny!!
Also, depending on what type of desk it is....the metal tracks have little screws that hold them to the drawer frame....you may need to climb (hope you're limber) under the desk and see if there are any screws that have backed out....it doesn't take much backing out for them to block the drawer. However, more than likely you have something stuck in there. Hope you may have gotten it open by now though...let us know please.
Just about every time I've hit this, it's been a screw coming loose and jamming the glides. Open adjacent drawers if any, look underneath if you can, and see if you can get part of the glide unscrewed and take out the whole thing. Replace the screw with a longer one if you can, otherwise, insert glued toothpicks into the hole or move the location of the screw to another hole in the glide.
Push and pull very rapidly to try to shake things away.
That out of the way, you might have to resort to some brass or steel shim from the hardware store. You want something that will bend and 1-2" wide. Slide it in the gap to dislodge the offending whatever.
