Dresser drawers- Can't get them out.
We're shopping for bedroom furniture after a fire and found a set we like that's in the range Allstate gave us (cheap). We really do like the set-- it goes with the trim and the style of that room, but we couldn't get the drawers out.

I mean, they pull out so you can use them, but we couldn't get them all the way out to look at the construction behind them or for maintenance or anything. The salesperson said the set was from a new vendor ("Lifestyle"-- can't find them online) so she didn't know how to get the drawers out.

They're on a center slide and we tried pulling out a little and lifting and pulling out all the way and lifting. I couldn't find anything underneath to press and release. To the left of each drawer is a little plastic tab sort of thing-- I tried pressing it, turning it, everything I could think of and still can't get the drawers out. I don't think we can buy the set if we can't figure this out! What if something got stuck back there?

Thanks for any help-- It's here: Home Comfort Furniture :: Bedroom :: Master Bedroom :: Fontaine Queen Bedroom Group

It sounds like that little plastic tab has something to do w/ it, but w/out seeing, I can't tell. Is there a solid divider between drawers - I mean can you take out the 2nd and see up behind the top? You have to find where the catch is...

Most of the time these items are put together or have some work done in the back of the store, If you ask the clerk to get the manager and tell them you will buy this but only if they show you how to get the drawer out, and if they can't you will buy something at another store I bet they figure it out

Every drawer will come out, some sales staff must know the trick to it.

We bought a set of dressers for your kids and they also had the plastic knobs at the back of the drawer, they come out but it's a pain.I used a set of vise grips to pull the knobs out and viola, the dresser drawers came out.

Dresser drawers are leaving sawdust [ 1 Answers ]

Hi, I have a wooden dresser, and the drawers slide in and out by themselves - there are no runners and it looks I haven't the room to add any. Because the wood in the drawers is running against the wood of the case, sawdust is created and lands on my clothes inside the drawer. I had heard there...
