I've heard you can wax the legs of your chairs to prevent that. I've never needed to try it, but it might be worth a shot!

Hi, shablue55!

Glides for the "feet" of chairs can come in a variety of styles as well as shapes and can be made from a number of different types of material. Generally, if you find glides that are made of nylon that come in an oval shape, you should be safe. Also, if you really shop around you should be able to find felt glides. As a matter of fact, just gluing thick pieces of felt on the ends of the legs might also help.

Applying a wax, as mentioned by urbancowgirl7 above, to new glides might be a good idea. I haven't yet tried that. You would need to have a paste wax that dries hard and has Carnuba in it.

What kind of floor surface do you have, please?

Thanks!
