Why were two threads locked?

My question is why when I made two comments on this site about the lack of tolerance of the posters, were both threads locked?

both of my comments were relevant to the OP, and for the record the person who replied before the thread was closed couldn't even spell the word let alone understand the meaning. He managed to get it wrong twice.

so my supplementary question: why do you allow people who have no idea what they are talking about to post unmoderated answers on this site.

for the record I majored in Psychology and have been a formally recognised Councilor in the military.

Pushtumpa, it sounds like you have all the answers. Maybe you could start your own forum site.

Personally I think Ben had every right to close the threads.
He does not have to give reason as he is the moderator although they are always for good reasons for him doing so.

And I think calling everyone in both threads "Small minded fools" might have had something to do with why people reported those threads... they were turning bad and the best way to stop an arguement is remove the thread that it was starting in.

I agree, its Bens call to close a thread.

On the other hand, if he is purporting to supply answers from "experts" and if those experts are allowing their own past experiences, beliefs and religious dogma to cloud their judgments, then perhaps the site should carry a more explicit explanation of the term "expert".

The OP in the thread finally saw a professional counselor, and his/her perception of the situation seemed far different to that of the majority of the posters on the thread, which tends to reinforce my opinion.

This is someones head you are playing with. People could read these comments and then take their lives.

No doubt some of the posters (presumably the ones who had a cheating husband) fail to care about the effects of their comments, such is the strength of their feeling on the subject. Perhaps they are the ones who should be seeking help.

Other posters seemed more interested in indulging in some form of sexual voyeurism.

In the past i have had to face the parents of a young man who took his own life over something as trivial as the comments made here. I didn't like the experience. The people who caused that event were small minded as well.

If Ben wants to ban me, then go ahead. It wont alter my opinion; Unless you know exactly what you are doing then keep out of situations like this.

I will be blunt, it is your attitude, which is bad. You feel your opinion is the only right one, and just reading this thread, And to be honest I am closing this one, Ben is far from the only person who can close threads.

if you wish to stay on this site learn to play nice or just don't bother comming back.
