Why Can't I have A Signature?

I have checked the FAQ's and searched the help about how to edit my Signature. It says "You can edit your signature anytime by clicking "My Profile" and then "Edit Signature"." Or something similar.

Well, I've clicked My Profile, and I don't have any option to edit or turn on a signature. I would assume there is some sort of "probationary" period or something before I am allowed to create a signature, but I have not been able to find any help or documentation on the subject.

Can someone please enlighten me?

Signatures and PM's are activated after your account is over 48 hours old and you have a post count of 5+.
We had to implement this to stop spammers.

Thanks. I just wasn't able to locate any information about it in the FAQ or help sections.

I'm glad I found this answer. I was going crazy trying to add my signature! Arghhhh!
