What does View Represent in a discussion

Hello,

I understand the View when in a particular discussion. It includes the following: Question/Asker, Rating, Last Post, Answers, and View. I just am not sure about Views. If I have zero answers and 4 views, does that mean 4 people looked at my question but did not answer? Or is views some kind of rating scale?

Views are how many people that have viewed a thread, including the ones that answered and the ones that didnt.
