Can I block boards from view at the Answer link?

Go to My Profile (top of any page) > Profile Options (on the left).

Scroll to the bottom of the screen to see the box where you can exclude forums from view.

Notes:

1. There is a limit on the number of boards that can be excluded (but I'm not sure what it is )
2. You cannot select a "Category" to block all boards that you want excluded.

I just tried it and it works for me.

Is plumbing the only board you were excluding with your test?

No, I exlcuded PLUMBING and saved it, but looked again and now it's unchecked. I guess I've hit the max number of boards I can exclude? What is that max?

Your site has 100s of forums, how in the world do I get the listing down to the boards I want to read, I'm skipping through most of the posts since I'm no expert in those.

Any ideas?

I don't know what the limit is...i've never tried adding one at a time until I see it's not working

Try this alternative:

Subscribe to the topics you are interested in. You will get an email whenever anyone posts in them. You will also be able to browse the last post in those topics only - From the main Profile Page under the heading "Subscribed Topics".

PS. Back to the excluding baords idea: Remember that some boards very rarely get posts...so if you like the excluded boards method, leave boards off the list that get very few posts...so that you don't have to "look past" them very often.

Is that making sense?

Comments on this post
JBeaucaire agrees: OK, will look at both methods.
