Lots, if you mean the weapons known as revolvers, rifles, pistols (semi-automatic, automatic), and cannon (artillery, phalanx, anti-aircraft, etc.) otherwise referred to by non-professionals as guns

Generally the categories above are firearms as they use a percussion technique to discharge.

Then there are the various calibers referring to the shells (a.k.a. bullets in the smaller ones). There are quite a few of those.

There are also a number of different brand names.

I think the question needs to be revised

there are more types of guns then you can think of. I think that you may want to know how many differant calibers of guns are there. As senator stated this question needs to be narrowed a little more.

I don't feel that we should get rid of guns. I was just stateing that there are to many guns to name. Guns in the right hands are not a bad thing.

43,235 encompassing all previously invented, which includes multiple calibers for single models.

Guns

Remember a gun is a tool, and people kill people, with gun , knives, hammers, screwdrivers, whatever weapon they can find.

two

Two, new and used

Ok seriously as stated, there are 1000's of combinations, including old flint locks and pressussion to all sorts of guns made in other nations.

I doubt if there is a complete listing that would include all guns of every nation thoughout history.

Since you listed this under forensic science, are you more refering to the more commom guns used in crimes within the US.

If you are vaguely asking, how many types of gun there are in existance, then I'm not sure that anyone could come up with an exact or even round about number of makes, models, old, and new.

If you want to know more directly like which gun uses what bullets, what gunshots would look like from certain guns, and things like that then please post that and I would be more than happy to help.
