Convicted felon

can a convicted felon who was convicted of a drug charge in 1992 do residential or commercial financing as a loan officer? I was convicted of a crime years ago as a young lad which was my first and only conviction but this crime still haunts me in the job market. I am very intelligent and good with numbers and I need advice on where can I go from here?

I think that whether or not you would be able to be certified/licensed for such a thing would greatly depend on the laws and policies where you are wanting to have a job doing that kind of job as well as what you were convicted of doing. So, it would help to know those things in order to answer your question the best.
