how to journal entry bond discounts

If bonds are sold for $500,000 of 10% on March 1, 2012. the bonds pay interest on September 1 and March 1. The due date on the bonds is September 1, 2015. The bonds yeild 12%. How to you journize the issues of the bond? and how do you calculate the discount on the bonds?
