Good job. I think this will definitely help. Lets give it a month or so and see if things blow up or not.

I also want to make sure I understand the colors. Green means approve, Grey means neither approve nor disapprove (i.e. they didn't choose either) and Red is disapproval?

Based on many of the comments I see that are "rated" neutral, I'm convinced that users are "missing" the fact that they need to choose one of them.

I'd lean toward nixing the Neutral rating, or have that screen defaulted to "Approve" and offer
-Approve
-Disapprove
-Neither Approve nor Disapprove

so that they can change it to one of the other two.

*** I think showing the feedback is a great step in the right direction.

Colors

Hi,
From looking at Admin's link to colors:
Gray (or, Blue) means the person rating it has no Rep Power yet, either green or red.
Does this rating count, one way or another?
Thank you.

Yes, gray is when a person does not choose either option (Approve or Disapprove). It's "neutral"

As I went to rate someone just now, the default was on approve, so there will not be any neutral, correct? This way when we disapprove, there should be a reason. Good start.

That's much better! For a good example: http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/networking/crypt-wirless-network-14425.html . Somone wrote an answer, two experts agreed with it. When the user reads that post, there'll be no question of what answer to follow.

I see that now, too. A worthy enhancement I think!

The green, blue, and red squares in the Latest Reputation Received table on the My Profile page denote the effect of the comment on your Reputation Score. If the rater approved the post, and at the time of commenting had a positive Reputation Power, the square will be green. If the rater had no Reputation Power the square will be blue. And if the rater disapproved the post the square will be red.
Ahh, I see now. That makes sense. But one question comes to mind. Does the Asker get Rep power for answers to his own question? Even if the Asker has no other Rep Power, he should have it for his own question.
