| | | Suggestion for new written policy Scottgem very eloquently described the situation here: http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/small-c...st-370375.html.
This happens VERY often on the legal boards. Someone posts, doesn't like the answer, tells the person (usually someone experienced in law with a large number of posts) to stop answering. The people who tell people to stop responding often tell others to do the same on other threads, often in other topics.
I would like to suggest that this become a written policy - "do not attempt to direct who can answer and in what mannner." Any thoughts by anyone?

| I agree.
Sadly, if it is made into a rule, it will probably be followed as well as all the other rules. Not at all.
I still agree though. | |

Pay to call ScottGem for advice ($.75/min) | I would put it differently: Something more like:
Within the rules of this site we do not want to stifle any contributions to a thread. EVERYONE is free to post their contributions as long as they do not violate the rules. Often the correct or best answer to a question is not something you may want to hear. You may not like the answer, even though its accurate or good advice. Under that doctrine please don't presume to tell anyone that you don't want them to respond to your posts.

| Maybe the rules should be read before they are allowed to have an account. | |

| True, I forgot how it works..
There has to be a way for new activated accounts for the people to go through the rules before they are able to post. Without just ticking that post.
