With regards the Rep system

As some users really don't want to use the rep system how about implimenting this:

Agreed

At least it could stop people from wondering why someone has a rep of 1 billion, and someone else only zero. I know some will say that the rep system can indicate whether a good answer has been given, but I dont personally like this,as the system can be misused,if someone has another agenda.Just because, lets say I have a high rep score,my answers are good, they could be seen as "crap" by someone else (I hope not )lol.
No,if your answers are fair, and given to the best of your ability, then others will take note surelly.Ask me help desk is'nt for ego building,it's for "helping everyone".At least that's what I try to do.

Option to hide

Hi,
I agree with having the option to hide reputation numbers. It would then be up to the member to either have it shown to the public, or not.
Since we are using a reputation system, it would be nice for those who prefer for it not to be seen.

My position has always been that the ability to rate individual answers is the most important aspect of a rating/ranking system. As long as the rating and comments continue to show at the bottom of a post I see no problem on allowing people to opt out of the Reputation system.

is something wrong??

I noticed that some posts have the comments and some don't, even though there were some issued. Also, now when I check someone's profile, their ratings are listed, is this new? Even though they are listed and I look for the particular posts, the comments are not always there????? I'm a little confused.

Comments only appear if the rateing has a green/red box otherwise you can't see them on the question, this is because the rateing is from a user with ZERO rep power.

I agree, but first, the option does not exist where the manual says it is. Second, when I found the other option "Can Hide Reputation from Others" and set it to "yes", it still seems not to work. This fix will have to wait a little while.

Better to dump the whole thing. Nothing to keep somebody from building a reputation in one forum and then posting dangerous crap in another.

Hi, the box didn't make it to my profile yet, but I don't mind any constructive changes at all. Plus, I'm sure that most of us understand the responsibilities of of our answers/advice - and don't post 'dangerous crap' as one stated. I am sure that the 'powers that be' know what they are doing to improve things on this great site to keep it that way instead of letting it become a 'bickering convention'. Wish all a good weekend!
