A member has suggested that the board be changed to Psychics and Mediums, as "fortune tellers" is "archaic". Are Mediums and Psychics not the same thing? Other opinions?

Yes, I saw the "possibly" but it seems to read to me that he/she didn't have a problem with Psychics & Mediums. He/she also suggested that most experts in this field would prefer either "Spirtual Counselors" or Psychics. I thought putting them together might be too long a title. ???? Not sure. Maybe Skygem will post back.

Hello Rick,

Perhaps the name "Psychics and Mediums" would better describe the kind of forum that is being hosted here, in a nutshell, assuming there will be mediums who will actively participate. Again, a medium is one who very possibly is also psychic but who reaches energies in the spirit world. Has there been anyone who has done that here in this forum? If not, the forum could be simply named "Psychics and Spiritual Counselors". I believe I would like that name much better as a whole as it would give a global reflection of what is being discussed here.

Sorry that this answer was much longer than a "phrase" but it warranted a bit more discussion.

Hi Rick,

Since learning about this board, I have found it to be an excellent forum for psychic discussions. Certainly, I would be glad to contribute my expertise here. As mentioned before, I mainly concentrate on questions regarding The Afterlife and also Symbols. The Afterlife is quite self-explanatory. Symbols can include a thought or an item that one sees either physically or mentally that appears to play a significant role in their life because of the repetitive occurrences e.g. a ball, a dark sky, a blue sweater, etc.

I do have much to share with everyone and I feel assured that TOGETHER we can all make it happen in the new "Psychics and Spiritual Counselors" board! Thanks for asking.

How about just "Psychics"? Tell me: Are "Mediums" also "Psychic"? If so, then Psychics alone should do.

Hi Rick, I understand about the term "Spiritual Counselors" and the first word already being used in another board. You ask are "Mediums" also "Psychic"? They 'can' be however, it is hard to tell if all of them are psychic. Generally, a Medium can be psychic but a psychic is not always a medium as that is a gift that is very special.

So, given the fact that it is impossible to know for sure if all mediums are also psychic (we feel many of them are) I would then be more comfortable with the name "Psychics and Mediums" as that would further describe the genre and if spiritual mediums also wanted to participate, I would think they would then feel perfectly comfortable in doing so as the board was not solely for psychics (where mediums might feel estranged). This is a GREAT discussion and I want to thank everyone who has participated!
