Leather Jacket woes

During a recent mixer my wife and I were given HELLO tags that you put on to your clothing to introduce yourself.

Well she was wearing a leather jacket and placed the tag on the leather. When she removed the tag there was residue that had imbedded itself in the leather. We have not yet taken it to a cleaning store and were wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to remove the residue without further damaging the leather.

Thanks

Leather jacket

Hi,
You might be able to remove the residue with a microfiber towel. They are available at car parts stores, just to name one place.

Good question, serialwife.

Suede is actually a type of very soft leather made from calfskin. It is the underneath portion of a hide after the splitting process.

Leather is a generic term for all hides and skins which have been tanned and finished.

NicoleC, I'm assuming it's a standard leather jacket. You can also remove the residue from the leather by taking a clean cloth and carefully wipe with plain water or a mild soap and water solution. Allow it to dry. Brush lightly if necessary.
