Bridal head pieces...

Apart from a veil and a tiara, does anyone have any ideas about bridal headpieces that aren't too out there?
My hair is really curly, so it should be quite simple - but the wedding isn't traditional enough for a veil...
So, I was thinking about a fascinator, but all the ones that I've found ready-made are a bit too feathery and ribbony... I wanted to make my hair the main feature, and have the mesh/tulle coming out to just cover one eye...
Can anyone recomend a good pattern, website about making, or website for buying that type of head piece?
Thanks

I think that if you were to look at the 50's erra (hats they wore on a regular basis likein I love Lucy) you might get a design you will like... kind of like a pillbox hat but so so round..
