I dyed my hair dark auburn. But then last week i wanted to dye it back blonde so i put blonde dye in it and it stayed the same. So i bought a dye remover and it took the auburn hair color out but turned it a light light orange color. So i i dyed blonde over that. Turned even Oranger. So i had to do something i didnt want orange hair. So now its dark brown. But i want to go back blonde. Have Any Ideas on what i should do? :o

Just wait until the die wears out... it's the only way, unless you want to go to a professional hair stylist...

Hi there, as a blonde myself, I have lived this scenario. Blonde die never works over a dark color because you can't lighten with die. What you can do is highlight it. Highlighting and die are differerent. Try using "colorbreaks" it is a highliight kit that is supposed to break up the look of solid blonde hair. It is powerful enough to lighten up died hair.

I hope this is helpful. Otherwise, if you have the money, go to a salon and get a professional to help. Sometimes this is the best option. Good luck!

BEST ADVICE IS TO CHECK WITH A HAIR DRESSER! Next is, don't hold any posters responsible if things don't go well. :p We just offer suggestions but check it out with a hair dresser first. Health of your hair is so important before deciding products to use.

PrettyLady will probably have great input on this question. This is her specialty, Beauty and Skin Care Expert.

What condition is your hair in right now? Is it dry or does it have plenty of elasticity in it? It has been through a lot and might need to be conditioned for awhile before doing any other process.

Anytime you put tint or dye on your hair, there is a certain amount of peroxide in the tint which lifts and then deposits the color. You cannot dye dark hair back to blonde. You must either remove existing color using a tint remover or use bleach. Then you always have to then use a tint or toner next because you will end up with just a brassy look to your hair otherwise. I suggest you use Wellite Cream Bleach (it has an oil in it to buffer). Read directions. There are usually two applicatons in each box. Work it through your hair, BUT ONLY DO THIS IF YOUR HAIR IS STILL IN HEALTHY CONDITION and not dry or brittle.
for approximately 15 minutes, then take a dry paper towel and remove one little area to see if the dark has lightened to a yellow or light yellow, and if not, reapply to that area (NEVER LET DYE, TINT, or BLEACH DRY ON YOUR HAIR< MAKE SURE IT IS ALWAYS MOIST WITH THE PRODUCT.) Cover with a processing cap. They are inexpensive and let it process another 10 minutes then check it again. I would shampoo it out at that time, use a conditioner on it. Use a product that stops chemical action in your hair, like Bio-Protein by Therma Fuse if it is available. After you comb through, using a detangler comb is best, so not to break hair- dry hair, then having chosen your color of blonde you want to apply, mix it as it states (EX: Miss Clairol is equal parts tint and 20 volume peroxide (developer) i.e. 2 oz tint to 2 oz. developer, apply evenly over all the hair. If you get color that has a gold base in it, it will be more brassy, if you get a color with a violet or purple base, you will get a softer shade of blonde. Leave on approx. 20 minutes, make sure all hair is covered right after applying. Using paper towel wipe off small area to see if color is good, if not, reapply, leave on another five minutes. Shampoo hair when finished processing, use good conditioner and something to stop chemical action, rinse and dry and style. If your hair is porous, keep in mind, it will grab the base color more strongly on the ends of your hair than the root area so if you use a purple base color and the ends are really dry and porous, it might grab the purple color. This will also differ a little according to if your hair is short or long, etc. Like I said, these are just some suggestions and I wish you well. :)

Please keep in mind also that when you reapply to new growth, you must do the new growth first before processing the rest of the hair. This addresses the problem of the ends grabbing too much color since it is on your new growth area longer. I will reread this tomorrow. I think I am seeing double so will double check what I wrote then. Three in the morning is a little late or early for me as the case may be. :)
