i want my son to see his father but not his girlfriends.

my son's father isn't on the birth cirtificate and he has been in prison for two and a half years and i don't fully trust him. We split up and he is starting to see different people and i am in a steady relationship and the father doesn't understand that I don't want to confuse my son and i don't want him around his girlfriends. He says that he is going to file papers to get his rights. Is there anyway i can stop my son from seeing all of my baby's fathers girlfriends if he gets his rights, and is it possible to get like supervised visits and if it is possible how do i do it?

It may be possible to get supervised visits, especially since he has a prison record. You may even be able to insist that he conduct the visits alone (with just the supervisor).

I would strongly suggest that you retain an attorney to represent you if he does file for custody and visitation. You should also file for child support.

However, if he can satisfy the court that he doesn't need to be supervised, then you will have little control over what he does or who he is with during his visitation periods.

How old is your son by the way?

stevetcg agrees: Agreed - if an unsupervised visit is allowed, its the parents right to have whomever he wants there, law permitting.

At your sons age, I doubt if he will become too confused with different people around. As he gets older he will have become used to this and when he's old enough you can explain more to him.

Good luck.
