Voluntary Relinquishment of Parental Rights

I have a son with my ex-boyfriend. He doesn't really do much for him and he wants to sign his rights over to me. How would I go about that. I talked to a lawyer and can't afford all the fees. Right now I am in Texas still but I'm due to leave to Germany in less than 2 months. Can anyone help me please!

Hello my:

If your b/f isn't using the rights he has, why do you need to go to court and spend money to take them away???? It doesn't make any sense to me. Besides, if you go to court, he will too, and you won't be able to go to Germany.

Unless there is someone willing to adopt the child in his place, your ex cannot sign away his rights.
As excon said, if he isn't exercising his rights anyway and you are leaving to Germany whats the point??
