    Termination of parental rights
The biological father of my daughter has not seen her in over 7 years. The last time I heard from him was in Feb 2006 and it was not even him who called it was his mother who said he was going to have surgery because he had skin cancer that had metatisized and that he wanted to see her. I told her that I was not sure that was an appropriate situation for her to be in considering she had not seen him in so many years. Well I never heard back from them until last week. All of a sudden the biological father's friend calls my mother's house because he wants to see her. I am tired of this coming in and out when he wants to. I have been remarried for 2 1/2 years to a wonderful man my daughter calls her dad and that is the only dad she knows. She does not know or remember her biological father. I had to go through Social Services to get child support many years ago, because he was working under the table and no one could get employment records on him. There have been multiple warrants put out for his arrest for him not paying his child support but apparently someone pays them for him or someone bails him out, I don't know. Anyway, I want him to terminate his parental rights but he refuses to talk to me about it, so I figured if I did it myself to give it a trial run before wasting my money on a lawyer, it might actually work. He does not like to put up a fight, so I am hoping he will just do it. My husband also wants to adopt my daughter. If someone could tell me the judicial forms I would have to file in NC for termination of parental rights and the forms I would need to file for my husband to adopt my daughter. PLEASE HELP!

If you look through the other posts there is plenty of info here - but basically you cannot terminate the father's rights without his consent.

The process begins with you filing a Petition in Court.

Don't waste your time or money. The only time you might get a TPR involuntraily is if the parent presents a danger to the child, and that isn't the case here.
