    Terminating Sperm Donor's Rights
I have a four year old daughter who has not had contact with her sperm donor in over 3 years. My husband now is the only one she knows as her Dad. I receive no child support and have full custody. I have never filed for child support and want his parental rights taken away. How do I go about getting his rights removed so my husband can adopt my daughter.

You should be able to just go to court for it.

Talk to a family lawyer, and they should be able to start you on the process of removing parental rights and filing adoption papers.

Get an attorney, who will send the bio father paper work to sign over his rights and then file those with an application for a step parent adoption with the court.

You don't. I'm assuming that your reference to sperm donor did not refer to artificial insemination. While you may not have had a relationship with this person he is still the child's biological father. Therefore you can not "remove" his rights. The only way you could remove parental rights is in the case of abuse.

What you CAN do is request that he relinquish his rights. I would imagine, in this circumstance, he should be willing to do so. If he isn't, then I would sue him for shild support. That may inspire him to agree.

But the point is you can't force him to relinquish. So you may want to suppress what appears to be an attitude towards him until he signs off.
