    Supervised visitation
My daughter lives in NY and I live in NV. She is 10 years old. I sent her back on to NY after her summer visit on the plane by herself for the first time. A judge from NYS Family court gave me the OK to do so. Unfortunately on my next court appearance I went in front of the referee that normally hears my cases concerning visitations with my daughter. She said that I broke her court order from 2 years ago by allowing my daughter to travel by herself. The child guardian gave his statement which was that my daughter was "severely traumatized", that I put my daughter in danger. He recommended that I be given supervised visitation and that I not be allowed to take my daughter out of the state of NY.
The referee went along with this. We just had a hearing regarding this matter and I will get her decision next month. If the referee makes supervised visitation permanent my question is how old does a child have to be before supervised visits can go back to regular visits?

It stays in effect till, 1. if there is a time limit in the ruling it runs out or
    2. you go back to court and get the ruling changed.

Sounds like your ex is trying to play games, 10 year olds are not "unsupervised" the fight staff stays with them the entire time, they are rode form gate to gate by staff and more. That is why airlines have programs for that. You needed to have someone from air line testify.

I agree. The airlines are well aware of these things and make exceptions for them. As you well know YOU must identify yourself to the airlines. They usually place an armband in their wrist so they know and ALL staff are aware that this child is never to be left alone. Also when she srrived at the other end that person too had to indetify themselves to the airline before the child could be released. Its sad when parents ( dads are guilty as much as moms ) play games and really what's at stake is the child. Also you might want to check the internet for airline policy regarding the transport of minors and take that with you if you go to court or see someone in authority about your child's case. Also maybe research statistics on the subject or order a parental review to straighten the matter out.
