Ok my father isnt on my birth certificate but when I changed my name when I got married I found out that he is on mu Social sercuity info. Why would that be? He lives in another state and I have never meet him or talked to him.

Not all that uncommon,I have heard of that with many single mothers not wanting to have their children associated with the biological father.

Feel lucky you even have his name for a possible future reference in case you or your children would ever want to meet him!
