    Child of a sex offender
    My daughter is 6 months old her father has seen her twice he has been in jail for 2 of those months... he wanted me to her up for adoption and while I was pregnant he wanted me to have a abortion... he is also a registered sex offender... can I make him give up his rights

    I would think, given his sex offender status, that you probably can.

    You cannot make him give up his rights, unless there is someone waiting to adopt the child. No doubt his rights would be severely curtailed but not eliminated altogether.

    I also doubt you can make him give up his rights, if he does not want to.
    Most likely becaue of his status, you can require any visits to be supervised only. I would doubt that he would want his rights and should not have a problem signing them over, esp if you have a new partner willing to adopt the child
