    What is a healthy amount of time to be 'online' before it is considered an addiction?

    It is not a set time online, like 3 montsh or 6 montsh - it is the amount of time spent on a daily basis and the perceived need TO BE online for fear of missing out on chatting, gaming, email, web browsing, etc. When it becomes a compulsion. That can happen in a very short period. Like finding a whole new world out there and not having the brains to be cautious when exploring the web. Getting hooked into net surfing, chat rooms, downloads, porn, etc.

    I've always used a simple rule for determining when it's time to consider something an addiction:

    If you look for reasons you're not addicted, or start trying to define a specific point at which it counts as an addiction... you're addicted.

    Addiction is not a function of how much you do something but how much you need to do something.

    I would say as soon as a person starts cancelling plans to do something in the real world because of something they want to do online then its an addiction

    If anything consumes your daily thoughts or actions above your faith it doesn't matter if your addicted. Set aside time in your daily activities to communicate with your God and do everything else in moderation.
