| Overpayment Recoop My husband overpaid $2700 in child support. It's a long story, but his case was transfered to Child Support Enforcement in Wyoming. They did not have record of him paying for two years, so, without any prior communication, they garnished his wages. We were unable to find an attorney in Wyoming that we could afford, so we did some research and submitted papers directly to the court. They found in my husbands favor, clearing him of all "delinquent" child support and making his account current. However, we live in Virginia and here, if you over pay, you get an automatic credit to your child support account and get to skip a few months of payment. We did not know that was NOT the case in Wyoming. Now, we are trying to get the overpayment credited to his child support enforcement account. We sent another letter to the court....they responded by saying we had to submit the order or hire an attorney to do that. Well, now that he has just retired from the Navy and has not yet found civilian employment, we cannot afford an attorney. I have been all over the internet and cannot find an example of the necessary order so we can make sure we do it correctly. Can anyone help me? |
