child adoption

my step son 's grandparents want to adopt him but they have afelony .Can they adopt ?the mother gave up her rights.My husband wants him. My husband now had got this girl pregnate .He married her . her parents had the marriage annulled. My husband has paid childsupport ,went to parenting classes and got papers to file for visitation as soon as the grandparents heard about it they moved and did not tell him were they had moved .he didnt get the papers filed . the mother was letting my husband call when her parents weren't hometo talk to his son .before they moved .my husband sent birthday cards christmas card to him . now these people have 5 charges against them that are felonys. do you think he can get him.

Can you give some more info? I am not sure I am straight on the situation.
I can tell you that the parents will always win over the grandparents unless the parent is a very bad person. Fill us in and I can tell you more.

first for the grandparent to adopt both the mother and father would have to have thier rights taken away or give up thier rights.

Afther that a felony can make it harder not impossible. You said the mother gave up rights, but where is the father,

If it is your step son, ( and you are not the mother, that makes you the father, and you have a husband ??) something not making sencse.
