No. There's nothing illegal about dating. But, you already have one of her family members working against you. What do your parents or her parents have to say? Do you really want to battle grandma? Looks like any kind of "dating" relationship isn't going to be approved. I would think that you would want to get a relationship off on a solid start as well as foundation. I think that it's best to wait a few years with this person and spend your time concentrating on schoolwork and socializing in groups.

There is nothing illegal about a 14 year old and a 16 year old "dating" in Alabama, however, any form of sexual relations is. The minimum age of consent in Alabama is 16, so this girl is still 2 years too young for you.

I am assuming she lives with Grandma? If so, you should rethink this relationship because Grandma can get the law involved if she thinks anything is going on between the two of you. If the law agrees with Grandma you can be labeled a sex offender for the rest of your life.

My vote, leave her alone, she is in middle school and you are in high school most likely. Find another girl who is your age.
