how to help my daughter?

My Daughter is eight years old and in a very bad situation her mother is not taking proper care of her. She sometimes forgets to feed her before school. My Daughter is talking with a social worker. Is this A good thing? I had her in in counseling but could not afford to keep it going. Her mother refuses to pay her part so I end up paying the full tab. I love my daughter very much but every where I turn for help the court shuts me down I am a father at the end of my rope, and don't want to just do nothing for my daughter. I need help I've tried lawyers the have just done nothing except take money and do nothing. My EX had gotten Remarried to a abusive husband and my Daughter had to witness the abuse . I contact the authorities, nothing was done. I contacted the department of child and family services, nothing was done. I talked with the child advocate, was told unless my daughter was physically hurt nothing could be done????? Please can someone help!!!!!
