We are in florida. My brother in law slept with a girl 1yr ago and hasnt seen her sence except out in bars and she is 20 and whell she has 1 kid by another guy & that dont pay her suport .. but now she i guess got prego.. from some one a yr latter now today i got a letter in the mail stating he had to go to cort in 2 days for child suport.. found out in that 1 yr she was bar hopping w multiple men and sleeping w multiple men at one time .. the kid could be anyones. but he dont want nothing to do with her or the baby.. how do i find out for him if he can just sighn rites over .. and does he have to deal with her or the kid ? i do beleve she is a money grubbing hoe.. in it for the $$$ only.. cause she never wanted kids to begin with and when she was around my husband and myself took care of the son she had cause he was always dirty and we baught clothes for him so hed look decent in sted of trash . my heart goes out to the kids but i do beleve its only about money. And i wouldnt never agree on this except she took my family for a ride and stole money and our bank checks 4 her own pleasure.. & he and we all feel this is her way of getting $$ or to be able to be around the family.

Has he had a paternity test to prove that he is indeed the father? If not, he does not have to pay child support until the test shows that he is the father. If he's not, then he's off the hook.

And if the test shows that he is, he can possibly sign over his rights and have nothing to do with raising the kid. But he will still have to pay child support until someone else legally adopts the child. Rights are one thing (seeing the kid, having say in how the child raised, where he goes to school, etc.), responsibilities are entirely separate.

Personally I'd get a paternity test done to make sure that he's the father. If it turns out that he is he can sign over his rights but he'll still be responsible for child support.

I don't think he can just sign his rights away just because she is a "money grubbing hoe".

He can 1. prove this "money grubbing hoe" is a liar by showing up in court and taking the test and then not have to pay support, if the child is proven not to be his. or 2. If he has the test and the child is his, maybe he can prove to the judge that this "money grubbing hoe" is unfit and he can accept the responsibility of the child and take care of it.

p.s you may want to tell him if he keeps hanging out in bars where "money grubbing hoes" goes and he keeps having unprotected sex he will be lucky if the only thing he gets out of it is a child. A baby is forever and so is HIV.
