    How to get custody of a child from dhs in arkansas\?
    I am the grandmother of a 4 moth old who is in dhs custody and I am trying to get custody of my grandson his mother don't want him and my son is handicaped and can't I am this baby's only hope but I have warrents in the state old one but for nothing serious is this going to keep me from getting my grandson I can't pay them rith now as my husband and I am living on one income right now and I am waiting on social security back pay to pay them off what can I do to get this baby

    Have you talked to DHS? Have you told them you want to care for your grandson?

    That's your first step.

    Yes they know I am filled out all the forms but they do a state background check and I know these are going to show up

    Did you tell them about the warrants? Did they say anything about your chances?

    Yes I have applied for coustody of the baby but I didn't tell them about the warrents wasn't shure if they would show up

    BIG mistake. You should have told them. I would call them and tell them before they find them.
