finding out about what credit cards are open in my name

I am actually asking this for a friend going through a divorce, who was wondering if there is a way to find out if there are credit cards open in his name. Thank you for your help!!

Get a credit report and that should tell you whats going on. You can get them free by request from the companies that have them.

www.annualcreditreport.com. - you are entitled to a free credit report every year from the 3 big reporting services.

Word of warning - do NOT sign up for an extras (monthly reporting and so forth) unless you want monthly warnings/reports and are willing to pay on a monthly basis.
