evicting son

How do i get my 23 year old son to leave my home. He doesnt pay rent. do I have to evict him. I live in nassau county ny Thanks

1. you can go ahead and consider him a renter if he was suppose to be paying some of the bills, and give him official notice to move out. and evict him if he does not

2. you could just change the locks when he is out one day, who cares, what is the worst a small fine even if you were found guilty of some housing violation, which you most likely would not be.

3. offer to pay his rent in some rooming house for a couple of months

I have pesonally done both 2 and 3 in the past with my grown children
