dual child support order

I have custody of my 6 year old granddaughter and have 2 child support orders from her parents. Her father doesn't pay any child support , but her mother who is my daughter pays but owes 7,000 in back support. Anything that I ask for the child she will provide. If I discontinue her child support order will I have to also drop the child support order for the deadbeat dad

You have to have a judge discontinue any child support orders. You need to pursue the dad for child support if he does not pay anything. Your daugther needs to pay her court ordered child support. For her to pay only when you ask is actually defeating the fact you have a child support order for her to pay a certain amount every week or every month. You are letting her shirk her financial responsibility to this child.

The parents don't sound like they are very good parents. It's great that you have custody - at least the child will be raised with a roof over her head and food and clothing.

You have the right to request the order to be closed , however you will have to explain why you would drop your daughter's order and not the father of the children. More than likely you will not be granted because your decision to drop your daughter could be viewed as "prejudice" to the parties involved. The orders were set for the children's needs. Although you state mother provides anything you ask, that is not a good system for support. She may one day decide to no longer provide and with the order closed you would have to go through the legal steps to re-open.

You can't just drop the support order on the mother. A judge would have to do that and I really don't see one doing it. Why not just use the support money to get whatever the child needs rather than drop the support and have the mother pick it up?

most states have required payments based on income. If you ask for one to be stoped to the court, the other party could use that as grounds to get thiers stoped also *** if the judge would stop them but I really doubt he will
