Does anyone know if the State of Florida will garnish disabilty wages from social security on child support. Court order my exhusband to give me any benefits he was receiving on behalf of my son in leiu of back pay in child support, but he kept everything...PLEASE HELP
If he is in arrears in child support payments, then the state can garnish any form of income, including but not limited to wages, social security, disability, tax refunds, gambling winnings, etc.
Even SSDI is not exempt from child support garnishments. I have seen many examples of it being done over the years. You should contact your local or state agency that should assist you with getting child support.
