CPS Was Called

Asked Jun 6, 2008, 09:14 AM — 4 Answers
Someone turned my fianc? And I into CPS, stating that we weren't taking care of our daughter, and that we didn't know how to feed her (she is on an NG tube for feedings because she has a condition called PierreRobin Sequence and can't eat with a bottle because she can't get good suction on a bottle). So I was wondering if there is ANY way to find out who turned us in, because the case worker said that she didn't know.

Threre is not way to find out who called. The information is not available to the public. This way it protects the caller. Yes, even if the allegations are unfounded, anyone is allowed to call on anyone and the child agency must respond to these allegations within 24 hours.

As much as you want to know, there isn't a way to find out. Sometimes you can get a worker that will let you know if they have the information at their disposal. However, I would encourage you not to find out. You will definitely hold the burden of the knowledge. If the information is found to be accurate then you will get the help that you need, if not then hopefully it wasn't done to be malicious. It's a hurtful process and they are hopefully just looking out for the best interest of the child.

No! There is an immunity to all reported real or false allegations to CPS.
