    Child endangerment, What can I do?
    I have a 13 year old son, he is considered dissabled due to severe asthma. His father has not been in contact with him for over 6 years, he hasn't paid child support for over 3 years. His father also has another ex-wife that can prove he is an endangerment to my child and to me. He hs tried to kidnap my son when he was 5, according to his other ex, he locked my son outside after midnight for over 3 hours, the only reason she knows this is because she came home from work and found my son crying on the door step. He was 6at the time. This is only the tip of the iceberg as they say, now he's back and I'm terrified and my son is begging me to not make him go if he does show up in the door step. He has locked him in a closed car in 90 degree weather smoking with no air, knowing he had astma. I only found out about these things once him and his now exwife got a divorce, she has paper work showing the things that he wrote about when he was getting psychatric therapy about the nasty and vile things he wanted to do to me and my son.

    My question is what can I do, do I have to make my child go knowing he has done nasty things to him. Knowing what he wants to do to him and me? How can I protect my child, someone please help me if possible. I need to know can be done legally.

    I'm not a legal expert but we do have many great people on this site that will be able to give you legal advice. Sadly, it's late, and I think most of them are in bed already.

    Check back often to see if you've gotten a response.

    A few questions I'm sure they'll ask;

    1. Where do you live?
    2. Does your husband have visitation rights even after 6 years of no contact?
    3. Have you gone to court to ensure that he doesn't get visitation?

    At least, I think they'll ask those questions. ;)

    Personally, at the age of 13 and after not having contact with his dad for 6 years, I don't think any court would force your son to see his father if he doesn't want to. That's just my opinion though.

    Good luck.

    You are right - OP needs to go to Court (whichever Court handles these matters in her area) and get some sort of supervised visitation order. And, yes, it would be most unusual for the Court to ORDER and then ENFORCE visitation by a 13 year old with a father with this history who is, basically, a stranger.

    If no support is involved, now is the time to file for some - support and visitation are totally different matters and don't hinge on each other.
