Change spelling of name on birth certificate
    Hello:

I was born in NJ and currently live in GA. My mother changed a letter in my first name, but never had my birth certificate changed. All records (school, medical, employment, even SSN) has the post birth certificate spelling. My, drivers license and passport have the spelling that's on the birth certificate. The name is pronounced the same, but as I said the spelling is different, by one letter. What are the steps to get my birth certificate (and subsequently my passport) changed?

There may be at least two alternatives: 1) amend the birth certificate in NJ; I believe your parent(s) would have to do this; or 2) petition in your current county of residence to change your name.
