Can a 21 year old marry a 16 year old
I am 16 and I am in love with a 21 year old man and he loves me to and so does his child. Which is our child. I didn't birth him but I feel as if I'm his mother and he does at well. We have only been talking for four months but it is as if I have known him my entire life and that we are meant for each other. I love him to the point to where I will die for him. He is the only person who looks at me for me and hat truly understands me. Is my love wrong

Well... yes... I am pretty sure it would be against the law for an adult to marry a minor. What does a 21 year old possibly have in common with a 16 year old? I know you feel that you are in love, but my dear you are still a child, you should be out shopping and going to movies with biys YOUR age and girlfriends your age, not playing momma to someone else's child. How old is your boyfriends kid?

    The pertinent law in Louisiana:
    Quote:

Under 18: If either party to the marriage is between the ages of 16 and 18, the presence and signatures of both parents are required. If a parent has legal custody in a divorce, a certified copy of the judgement must be presented. If either party is under the age of 16, a court order is required in order to obtain a license.

In other words, you will need your parents' permission and presence at the wedding.

Well thanks for the reddie, but I said I was PRETTY SURE, not that it was a hard cold fact. Jeesh, either way it's morally wrong.

Five years may not seem like a big age difference to you but you're only 16 and he's 21. You two are at completely different stages of maturity in your life. You may think you know yourself but you will go through a lot of growing and changing by the time you make it to 21, even by the time you make it to 18. You may not seem to know better, but he should know that it's illegal to have a relationship with someone under the age of 18. Just a word of warning, if you two are having a sexual relationship and a concerned person finds out and tells authorities, your boyfriend could get into major trouble. Even if you say you've given consent, the law can still go after him. This can cause him to go to jail for an unspecified amount of time, he'll have to register as a sex offender, he could possibly even lose custody of his child. I'm not threatening you, you just need to understand the consequences of your actions. You need to give yourself time to come into your own and grow up. At least wait until you're 18 before you make decision that can have the potential to make you completely miserable.

Just from the way you asked your question, it shows your immaturity , personal opinion

But if your parents will sign for you to marry this pedophile then yes you can

You've only known this guy for 4 months so give it some time if you think this guy is marriage material. I'm not sure what the laws are pertaining to this but the moral ramifications it could cause are enormous.

If he really loves you and respects the fact that you have a lot of growing to do before you reach a mature enough age to make the biggest decision in your life he'll wait.

    Seriously what's the rush?

All right, Look girl. I don't know you so I'm speaking for myself. I'm 16 and dating a 21 year old. He also has a 1 year old daughter. We have been together for 11 months; I met his daughter when she was 1 month old. YES I do evrything for that girl. I bath her, feed her, play with her everything. The mother is still involved also. Anyway, I don't think it's wrong for you to be dating a 21 year old. If you think you're mature enough then GREAT! I have parent's consent and I know I'm WAY more mature than any girl my age. I've changed for the better ever since I've been with my boyfriend. We are thinking about getting married also.
Good Luck with your relationship - and DO NOT let these stupid low life's tell you what your doing is wrong; Everyone has an opinion and obviously theirs Doesn't matter:)
