I need help in an out of state court hearing. He is in Idaho and I am in Washington. The laws are very different there as compared to here. He also does not understand the english language. We have a son together and he is trying to get residential custody of our 4 year old son. Already our son has come to me on a visit and not spoken one word of english. I let his father take him for a time, because I was trying to be a good parent and trying to be a friend. Now, that is has become a problem. He has taken it to cort and he has an attorney, I have nothing. I also have 4 other children to support. Now he wants to take me to court, meaning all the court hearings I will have to travel to Idaho, I can't have phone hearing or conference. I want an attorney, but have no money for one. If I had one, they could go to court for me. That seems to be impossible. What do I do?

I have a problem. I tried to be a good mother and I let my 4 year old son live with his father for a year. Now, after a year of not seeing him much, his father takes me to court. He lives in Idaho, and I live in Washington. His father unfortunitly doesn't have that much to offer. His english is terrable. He has been in the U.S. for about 5 maybe 6 years, and he has an attorney. I need one, but everone turns me away. I have a few other children, and traveling to Idaho for a court hearing is virtually impossible. I need an attorney to help me so that he/she can do my court hearings in Idaho, and I can stay at home with my babies. If his father does get custody, than my sons life will be very depressing. His father works about 16hrs. a day, and only has one day off. (problems with being illegal for so long) and I only work graveyard 2 nights a week, soon to be working at a daycare, that he will be able to get into. What on earth should I do??
