| Before the custody battle Well recently my wife has decided she wants a divorce. She has to wait 6 months as is manditory in New Jersey laws. In the meantime she is refusing me to be able to see my daughter. My daughter is only 2 and I haven't seen her in two months now. I no longer am able to stay in New Jersey and have moved to North Carolina. I keep trying to go see my daughter but my wife will not allow me to. She will only do it if a family member of hers can be present at all times. The only problem with that is she has had her family come to my work place several times at night looking for me and asking other people like my manager what my car looks like or where am I. I don't feel safe traveling up there to have to be subjegated to her family and there threats. Don't I have any rights as of now before the custody hearing to see my daughter in a safe enviroment? Even so I would allow the mother to be present at all times Do I even have to offer that or do I have no rights until the case? She says if I come up there to get her she will call the police on me for parental abduction or tresspassing. I have no criminal record, through the two years we were together never once were any police called on violence or any other matters at all. I am a very nice person and just want to see my daughter. What should I do? |
