Hello,

I am the mother of a 3 1/2 years old boy who doesn't sleep enough during night,so he becomes sleep deprived every week.
Some time ago he started to refuse to nap at noon, but he becomes very tired between 4 and 5 p.m.,and when I put him in bed at 7 p.m. he is already overtired.Being overtired he needs a very long time to fall asleep (more than one hour) and he wakes up TIRED and CRANKY the next morning, after sleeping only 9 1/2 hours or 10,which is far too little for his sleep needs.(He is happy when he sleeps 11 hours per night or more).
So I put him forcibly to nap next day,and he naps- but he does it late, usually between 2 and 3.30 p.m. Then he falls asleep late in the evening (between 9.30 and 10 p.m.) and wakes up late the next morning (between 8 and 9),usually not satisfied with the amount of sleep that he has got.
This sleep pattern interferes a lot with his kindergarten schedule.
So what can I do to help him sleep after a schedule? What can I do to pull him out from his sleep deprivation anyway?

Thank you.
Nicoleta
